Basement FinishCase Study

A client from Doylestown, PA, contacted us with an interest in refinishing their basement.  When I examined the home, I found that the basement offered an expansive space, but that it still had the original bare concrete floor and visible insulation lining the walls.  The client needed the extra space, and wanted to make have a basement that would accommodate several people during family gatherings.

After examining the site, I created some plans using the client’s input; they wanted to have plenty of storage space, but also wanted a full bar area that would allow them to entertain guests.  After so many basement renovations, I knew exactly what they were looking for, so I walked them through the entire process to help them understand how we would be able to bring their ideas to life.

In addition to the wet-bar itself, which uses stone that matches the walls of the room, we created shelving behind the bar, including an area for a temperature-controlled wine rack.  To accommodate the client’s desire for increased storage space, we included custom cabinetry.  In addition, high-hat lighting throughout the room provided a soft light that helped to set the atmosphere.  By the time the project was complete, the client was thrilled with the finished product.
